Lots of used stuff |

If you haven't visitedCraigslist on the internet,
you haven't shopped used. Craigslist started in the Bay Area
and is now nationwide (but divided into sections so you only
search one region at a time). Unlike Ebay,
which has been taken over
by businesses doing re-selling (although still a place to find
some good deals), Craigslist is still largely individuals selling
to individuals. It's local stuff, so they usually aren't set up
for shipping: you'll need to go pick it up. Also features:
community postings, personals, forums, job listings,
"teachers' wishlists," and don't miss the "best-of-craigslist"
link for great old posts. It's fully automated, so you can post
your own listing of stuff to sell, your yard sale, roomate wanted,
etc. For those who remember the Berkeley Coop supermarket bulletin
boards, this is the 21st century version.Looking for how to recycle stuff? Two options:City of Berkeley Waste Management page or The Internet Consumer Recycling Guide "This recycling guide provides a starting point for consumers in the USA and Canada searching the net for recycling information. The information is for regular folks with regular household quantities of materials to recycle. The goal is to help make recycling so easy and automatic that it blends into the flow of everyday life. |
