Airport Shuttle Services

It seems that many cabs have switched from a central dispatcher to cell phones for every driver. The Yellow Page are full of cab phone numbers. We're only listing a few here, those that appear to be dispatch based with a Berkeley phone number. If you use a cab regularly and find a driver you like, ask the driver is s/he has a direct cell phone number you can call.

All numbers are area code 510 unless otherwise noted.
  • A Cab, 234-1111
  • Alameda Airport Cab, 526-3000
  • Friendly Airport Limo & Taxi, 866-540-4567
  • Metro Express Taxi, 843-TAXI, 843-8294
  • Project Cab Taxi Service, 395-0000
  • Super Shuttle Express, 652-4466
  • Veteran's Cab, 895-0900
  • Yellow Cab Air, 644-0111
  • Yellow Cab Express, 848-1234, 644-1234
  • Yellow Express Cab, 841-8294
Most cabs will take you to the airport, but shuttles offer a more moderately priced alternative. Most shuttles have either set stops on their list, or will come to your door. Either way they usually drive you along with several others to the airport.

It appears that no Airport Shuttles are based in Berkeley, but ShopInBerkeley recommends the following:

  • BayPorter Express, toll free, 877-467-1800. Online reservations accepted with minumum 48 hour advance.
  • East Bay Airporter, 812-3564

Take BART to the airports! A Trip Planner is available to help you plan your trip.

  • Oakland Airport: Take a train to the Coliseum Station (the Fremont train from Berkeley stations), then take the Air BART shuttle that runs about every 10-20 minutes. Exact fair required: $2.00 adults, 50¢ for seniors, disabled, and children under 11. There are also two AC Transit buses that can take you from BART to the airport. If you've got luggage, the Air BART shuttle has luggage racks, but during busy airport times it may be crowded.

  • SFO: Take the train right into the SFO Airport. Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip, since most trains going from Berkeley into SF don't go all the way to SFO (peak commute hour trains go all the way).
