We carry personally selected literary fiction and quality mysteries, and first-rate non-fiction: history, current affairs, politics, biography, memoir, travel literature, cooking, food, wine, children's books, home, design, landscape architecture, and gardening, both practical and literary. Our collection of gardening books is carefully chosen to be relevant for our Mediterranean climate. We feel extraordinarily fortunate to live in a richly literate neighborhood and have proudly devoted a shelf to our many renowned local authors. We offer a number of items either from or inspired by the garden: plants grouped in unusual containers, copper, ceramic, and glass vases to hold cut flowers. Many of these items are produced exclusively for Mrs. Dalloway's by artists such as John Oldani and Keeyla Meadows. Alongside our garden book greenhouse we stock a selection of magazines to inspire the gardener: relevant local and regional publications as well as the cutting edge garden design magazines from Europe. Works of original art by local artists - painting, photography, weavings, sculpture - inspired by gardens complement our books and beautify our walls. In addition, we display a variety of delightful 19th century English, French, and German botanical and insect prints, and a selection of quality cards, all relating to the theme of nature.
