Welcome to Native America at Gathering Tribes where you will find jewelry, fine art, pottery, Zuni fetish carvings, folk-art, drums, rattles and more, made by Native American artisans. Our resident artist is Michael Horse (Yaqui/Zuni/Mescalero Apache) who is an award-winning jeweler, artist and actor, and who you may see working on one of his ledger paintings in the gallery. The works featured at Gathering Tribes are made by Indigenous people from all over the Americas without regard to political bounderies. You will find jewelry from the Zuni, Hopi, Navajo, Mayan and Santo Domingo tribes, as well as Pueblo pottery from New Mexico, Hopi katsinas from Arizona, Mohawk pottery from New York, Zapotec rugs and animal carvings from Oaxaca, Dreamcatchers from Canada, Day of the Dead folk art from all over Mexico and many other wonderful items. There is an ancient prophesy from 500 years ago about the eagle of the north and the condor of the south coming together at this time. Gathering Tribes embodies that prophesy where the treasures of the north and south are exhibited under one roof. We also feature award-winning Native American artists at weekend events throughout the year. Some of these events have featured fetish carvers; Lena Boone and Todd Westika; jewelers: Eddie Two Moons, Ken Romero, Marian Denipah and Steve La Rance; Huichol artist: Luciano Valdez, and many other wonderful folks. To find out about these and other special events at Gathering Tribes, please call to get on the e-mail or mailing list and become part of our circle.
